Our sound story experience
The past few weeks in class we have been learning about sound, with all the various processes it takes to develop sounds for projects. Initially, it seemed easy, to just step on some different textured floors and things like plastic, grass, or glass. But as we began the process of trying to understand and conduct our own foley stages, we realized just how difficult it can actually be. From trying to record the sound, separate it from any other sounds that happened to be caught in the audio, edit the sound for volume, and into the project. Working in a group helped the process go smoother for our first time, one person to do the foley stage and one to record the sound and process.
Presented here is the sound story video we put together:
This video is a few clips of us making the sound story:
Through the process of filming, editing, and reviewing the final product we realized many things. Certain things we could have recorded better or clearer, along with some mistakes we made editing, cutting, and layering the sounds. One thing I would like to learn better is how to layer the sounds as I had some trouble doing it with this project. But this being our first project, allows me to be able to experiment and become better with recording and editing sound for future projects. I am excited for further experiments with sound as we continue to work and get better with editing.
Thanks for visiting again,
Sofia
