Editing Post #2
To add to the last post, I will be sharing what new challenges we have encountered and other challenges we have solved. Along with a few other things like how long editing has taken us and how we have worked together to solve our problems.
As we continue filming and editing, our biggest goal for the film is to make sure it meets the requirements of 2 minutes. Being two minutes as our goal, filming the clips was the easiest process in our final stages. As we edit, we have spent most time shaving off little pieces to ensure we don't go over our time requirement. With such requirements and no room to add on time to the two minutes, we have to be very strict with the clips we want to use and how we can use that short time to engage the audience.
As our group continues to work together we are all able to use our own abilities to the best of our project. As Lapidot and Yanes have taken their parts in our character roles, I have the main responsibility of editing the clips together and adding transitions. A large part of this decision is that I am the most comfortable and familiar with editing software. Both of my partners have helped give ideas and their opinions on the editing process, what transitions we should use, how lighting can be edited on clips and other things that come up at the time. We all are able to cretic the film, especially Yanes as he has played like the audience to ensure that our process is working to engage and surprise.
Lastly, as we finish editing the video part of our film we will continue to focus on the audio clips. Whether we will use a foley stage or keep some of the sounds we originally have recorded. Our first part of the film overall was easier to film and edit compared to the second part. The second part had more components to film and record audio for, but overall we should be able to go through the same process as we did with a bit more familiarity to help with the more complexity we may face.
