Equipment used in our film

This post will be going through the equipment we used to shoot our film.

To begin with, our most important piece of equipment was the camera used. As the camerawoman on the first day of filming, I brought three different options to try out, a canon camera, a go pro, and my phone to try to see what would give us the best resolution and audio quality. Our group elected for the phone to be used as it captured both with decent quality and made transitioning the clips to the computer easy. This was our safest choice and seemed to help our filming process go smoothly the whole way throughout as we were able to film and view the scene quickly in the quality we filmed, with Apple technology being able to use 4k30hz.

For editing software, we also had the choice to make between IMovie and Premiere Pro. We ultimately went with IMovie as it was easier and quicker to edit the two minutes of the film opening while also being able to manipulate and layer audio along with adding certain transitions to the film. Along with being the main editor, I have worked more on IMovie than Premiere Pro and therefore felt much more comfortable with the software for this project. I hope to get more comfortable with Premiere Pro to use on future projects.
