In this blog post, I will be reviewing the lightning our group used to conduct our film.
For our film, we mostly used low-key lighting to help demonstrate that our main character was being stalked and to invoke fear. We planned for our film to be shot at night as the main character was coming home from a long day at work. Low-key lighting helped us convey the mystery/horror aspect in the first half of our film then is combated with the second part of the film. Even when we moved locations to the house we mostly kept up with the low-key lighting especially to keep the stalker's identity hidden from the audience.
To continue matching lighting with the mood of our film, more high-key lighting is used in the very end scenes. To add to the surprise scene the stalker is seen turning on the lights of the house to brighten the atmosphere. Overall the lighting helped us achieve the mystery turned happy surprise we wanted to convey to our audience.
